our Cattery

sandfords human team
I'm holding Saffron and my beautiful cat loving daughters are holding his prizes. The girls love what we do, so much so that my eldest daughters first word was "cat". I love what we do because it fosters my pet nerd, perpetual student urges, and it teaches the girls so many great life skills - all while having fun and bonding as a family. We are very fortunate to have such friendly, supportive fellow exhibitors, club officials and judges to learn from at our shows.

my beautiful saffron dash
He is a Cinnamon Tabby Point Siamese, is the King of our cattery. Our plan is to selectively breed him with our Ashanti and Sandford cats. At the moment, he is our only planned stud. Our focus for Saffron is to obtain as many titles as we can before he reaches 2 years old - so far its going quite well - other than having to use our DNA tests to confirm colour and coat classification because his original pedigree was incorrect - it has held up obtaining titles so far (LOL, I continue to learn).

My Beauty of winter
A purr machine. She is a Seal Tabby point Bi-Colour Siamese. DNA tests conducted when she arrived confirmed the need to change her pedigree papers, though looking at her beautiful tabby markings, it was "written all over her face" without confirmation she has the Agouti gene (LOL!). She began her show career here in Adelaide in 2025 and is doing exceptionally well, though is delayed in receiving titles due to her incorrect pedigree initially (now corrected). She is not a good candidate for breeding with our current stud however, and she also has some reproductive investigation pending by our vets. I would love to breed her to our Sandford lines with a suitable inbreeding co-efficient. Regardless of the outcome, she will stay here with us to continue her show career and rein by force over the entire household (LOL)!

sandford Serendipity
She is my favourite from her litter. She commences her show career in June 2025. I am undecided whether she will become a Sandford queen due to some inherited factors and how they fit with my other cats. She may be the reason why I get another stud (sorry hubby!)

sandford Tao
He is a gentle cuddly boy and I adore him. He commences his show career in June 2025 to have our judges determine if he is suitable to improve the breed, or if he is best suited as a pet. His colouring is the result of breeding Silver and Cinnamon - which is unfortunately not recommended to maintain coat to the modern standard for dilute coats and modifiers.

ashanti Nastassia Petal
Our sweet queen is essentially the "mother hen" of our cattery. She not only raises her own kittens beautifully, she takes on all the other cats and kittens too! She has had 4 successful litters to date. At this point I plan to retire her for our laps once she has raised her current litter. Her daughter will be our next queen and her son possibly our number 2 sire.

sandford Sass queen
Commencing her show career in June 2025. She is the smallest member of our cattery but she is also the most feisty. Her colouring is the result of breeding Silver and Cinnamon which this is not recommended to maintain coat to the modern standard. She may look for a lap in the future. EOI is currently closed.
